And this is the last of the wallpaper posts, a beautiful sunset as the background to a snow covered Christmas Tree.

Autumn

The autumn weather brings such beautiful colours and joy to my walks home.

sunset in the air

Plane view at sunset, so you can see the lines in the sky and also on the interior of the plane.

bamboo

Another close up from my garden, this time a bamboo leaf. It reminds me of a slide, and I can just see the water dripping down the leaf when it rains.

A tiny little moon

colours of sunset

A beautifully colourful spring sunset. This was taking during my last year of school, when I'd go on photography expeditions to delay starting my study.

Morning Dew.

In the winter months, morning dew on the grass turns into frost. And when the sun comes out this frost melts, so that it slowly disappears along with the shadows that kept it cold.

Tuesday, 24 May 2011

this is my 300th post!

And it's raining outside. But this is a real picture of the real live snow that we never get in Sydney, so I can only wish that the rain would turn into snowflakes.

I love manual focus.

this is from the Night Noodle Market last year that was set up in Hyde Park. my tastebuds and I have fond memories of that night. I love being able to take photos with a manual focus, because I love lights that are a bit blurred.

Poppy

I went to Canberra last year, and this photo was taken at the War Memorial. I thought it looked so striking, the lone poppy on the background of bunches of others. Poppies are very significant in Australian War History, however Wikipedia will explain it better than I could.. :)

Another picture from the epic Sydney dust storms.

symmetry.

brought to you by the amazing site everynone, a filmmaking team located in new york.
what i love about this video is each little moment where you make the connection yourself, like between cookies and milk, art gallery and student art, lightbulb and sunlight. seriously, just watch it. there's too many to list.
just beautiful filmography

Sparkles!

Smile! You have a reason to, tomorrow's Friday!

Sunset

I didn't even get to see any sun today. I spent the majority of my daylight hours sitting in front of the computer working on a presentation.

On a good note, I used this awesome site called Prezi, once you get the hang of it, it is the best presentation program ever! It makes slides look a million times better and it's quite easy to get the hang of!

On another side note, this week is Live Below the Line Week! It's pretty much an awareness campaign, you live on $2 a day for food and people sponsor you. Money raised goes towards  I unfortunately haven't been too well so I couldn't do it, but will definitely be donating to friends and have devoted a lot of my time to Free Rice, because every little bit helps!

Dust storm

This was the afternoon sun the day of the dust storms 2 years ago. The photo doesn't do the colours justice, the sun was blue

Zoom

Again from my backyard. I just thought that zoomed in, this plant looked really cool.

Branches

From the plane.

This is reminiscent of some of the first photos I posted.
Photos from the plane always amaze me, because being up so high makes everything tiny and it's the most wonderful feeling to look down. I always want to reach out and pick up the tiny little cars, or squish some of those clouds like cotton buds between my fingertips.

Fairy Lights.

Fairy lights are just magical.
They can cheer anything up and they're just so happy!

Cheer up, it's almost Friday!

in your backyard

I was amazed to find some beautiful plants in my own backyard, simply by zooming in you can create some amazing images.

Christmas tree

A snow covered tree in Switzerland.
I just love the thick blankets that form when it snows.
And that the snow stays there, even until the sunny days that follow.

a beautiful view

Sunrise in Minnamurra.
Took a blanket and book and read whilst watching the sun come up.
I'm thankful that I'm learning to appreciate that I am able to have moments like this.

The Roof.

I can't remember where in Switzerland, but this is the roof of a shopping centre somewhere. I've been reminded, this is the roof of the Mühlefeld shopping centre in Oensingen.
I really love the little dots of light and the repetition of the beams.

Snowflakes

I used this picture as inspiration for my latest assignment, where we had to design furniture inspired by nature. I chose snow. Of course.

Coogee cliffs

Looking up at some of the cliffs at Coogee Beach. I love exploring along the beautiful sandstone coast.

Mini coconuts.

Seeds and stuff.

Used as mulch in some of our pot plants.

airport train station

I love this dome roof made of glass panels
and here is a wikipedia link to it, the airport train station of frankfurt

Monday, 2 May 2011

it snowed the night before

and the garden pathstones obviously didn't 'hold' the snow as well as the grass.
it also snowed over some animal tracks, hence some weird lumps in the snow

The Chocolate Room.

From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Okay it isn't really, but this picture really does remind me of it, with the natural shapes and bright colours.

Designed by Javier Senosiain, and built in Naucalpan Mexico, this is a beautiful house inspired by the nautilus, where the dweller feels as if they move from one chamber to the next.

With beautiful stained glass and tile work, it looks like an amazingly comfortable place to live.

Desktop Backgrounds.

So for the month of May, I'll be posting photos that I took to use as wallpapers for my computer.
And I'm very happy to share them, of course, as long as you acknowledge that they're mine.
And I've purposely made the watermark smaller so that when the picture's being used as a background it's not massive.

On a side note, I'll be getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow... At least I get a week of holidays, right?
