italian homework vs. improv everywhere
guess who won? so instead of doing my aforementioned italian homework that's been freaking me out, i spent a good chunk of my evening watching youtube videos of improv everywhere. i've been a huge fan for a long time, but i just think is hilarious because the people who are improv-ing are so nonchalant to the attention they're attracting.
i want to try it here in sydney - who's with me?

flash mobs
I know I know, I've been posting a lot of videos, but that's because I keep finding videos I want to share!
I recently took part in a flash mob dance, which was absolutely amazing and I really want to do another one soon! But in the meantime, I've found some really awesome ones!
Is this not an awesome dance, done to a wonderful song?
This one is absolutely wonderful, I love GLEE and I love the mix of songs too!
And here is a flash mob with a difference

how pencils are made
i didn't even realise i wanted to know how pencils are made until i saw this, and i'm just so amazed!
i love what you can learn from the internet!
there's a whole series: google how it's made and you'll discover a wealth of information, and how complicated it is to make the simplest of things!

ah quotes
can i just point out how much i love clients from hell?
the website description says 'a collection of anonymously contributed client horror stories from designers.'
a few brilliant examples
— Client sells home insurance.
"I know what I like and what I don’t like and I know what I want and what I don’t want but I have nothing specific in mind."
:)

"I want it to roar like lion. Like a digital lion.. Actually, let’s add a lion somewhere. Or maybe have it meow and then have a cat. I hear people on the internet like cats."

"I don’t have the money right now. Could I pay you with some of our puppies? How many do you need?"

canine snuggie
made when an old towel - with a hole - was put over the head of my surprisingly neutral labrador.
she just sat there and put up with it, without complaining or trying to take it off.
my blue heeler, on the other hand, wasn't happy because the labrador was sitting whilst he was trying to play with her!

trippy bookcase
how cool is this bookcase?
imagine walking through - it'd be so trippy!
check out the other pictures plus the description and video of making of/walkthrough here
the video is a must see, because it shows the room better.
i thought at first that it was a narrow corridor - but i think it looks nice in this huge room
it's almost like a living thing, because it bubbles outward from the wall.

jumpy jump jump
as a normal human being, i am prone to procrastination. and during said procrastination i usually make use of this great thing i have access to, called the internet. ever heard of it? it's pretty awesome.
ANYWHO.
i am generally found browsing sites such as 2leep because they always link to some awesome articles, even if it means combatting various popups and ads on the sides. on one such encounter i stumbled upon these pics.
this is amazing!!!!!!not only does he look amazing, but the pic doesn't look like a friend captured the right moment in a jump, there are no shadows etc. some pretty good lighting used here.
just holding a lamp whilst levitating. the norm.
love the look of her holding the phone and the friend coming out of the bathroom
there are a few more but these are just amazing! how do they make it look so effortless? beds arent like trampolines that almost propel you upwards, you have to jump with your legs. especially this last one - imagine the timing!!!now i don't know who took these pics, but they all look like hotel rooms to me (they're too neat and clean to be household bedrooms) so i'm wondering whether maybe it was the same person?

hamburger bed yum!
i can just imagine sleeping in this every night.
and the funny part is, my dreams are always always affected by where i am sleeping. and i sleep action. so id probably end up eating a pillow or something whilst dreaming about maccas. yup.
note: sleep action. equivalent of sleep talking, but doing actions. not, but related to, sleep walking.
and i also sleep talk. but that's another story.

glasses
since i was very very little
not that long ago - but because i'm so short, if i say little people usually think like, a year ago.
so - very very little means when i was 5.
anywho.
i really wanted glasses.
i used to read in the dark to ruin my eyes, but that never helped because i have the best vision ever.
and the day i had conjunctivitis i was so excited because i thought it was my eyesight failing and the glasses-wearing part of my life would begin.
but alas, no.
so instead, i steal my mums glasses, take photos and spend days convincing my friends i got glasses. and i also wear cheap ones i got from a 2 dollar store that i poked the lenses out of.
i am that cool.

virtual whiteout
how do you explain the concept of the delete key to someone who doesn't use a computer?
i have posed this question to many acquaintances and the answer was mostly the same -
'it gets rid of what you have'
i can see how thsi would work - but only because i use a computer. and the delete key.
i think it would be much harder because someone who doesn't use a computer doesn't get the idea of virtual memory and hard drives, right?
what do youse think?
p.s. if anyone asks, the other name for a delete key is virtual whiteout

gotta love the interwebs
this is a most hilarious website called Not Always Right
where people send in snippets of things that happened to them whilst at work, dealing with customers. there are people who work in retail, call centres, fast foot places, corporate companies even museums and libraries!
i just love this site because it really rings true to me (is that even the way that saying is said?) becaue I have worked in jobs that require serving customers, and although mostly there were good experiences there were some moments that i would consider putting up on the site.
this one is an older one that i just loved.
D'ohpe
retail - florida, USA
customer: "Why was my return denied?"
me: "Ma'am, the system is showing us that you have recently made a lot of returns without a receipt. When this happens, corporate flags your ID and you can't make any non-receipt returns for a while. It's to prevent theft."
customer: "I'm not stealing. In fact, I have a lot of money. My boyfriend is a street pharmacist and he has a lot of money."
me: "A what, ma'am?"
customer: "A street pharmacist! He sells dope."
me: "That is more information than I want to know ma'am. You have a good day."
funny that, i've never heard it called a street pharmacist.
sounds mildly legal.
