dalton ghetti

these beautiful sculptures are intricately carved into used pencils by brazilian artist dalton ghetti using a razor blade and a sewing needle. they are just ABSOLUTELY amazing, and my brain is boggled at thinking how he got all that detail and precision, and how much time they would take!

i love the tiny little hammer and button and i think the screw is so adorable, but my head is messed up thinking how he achieved the key in a ring!? or check out the detail in the letterbox?! this guy is just amazingly breathtaking!

gotta love art

i've just been bombarded with lots of installation artists recently at uni

and then i went through my bookmarks of found stuff and saw this

and i still want to do it myself

because just how amazing does it look?!?

and what is it? seems like just magazine cutouts!

also this reminds me of a model of a city.
lots of little buildings, spaces of water, frames.

sleepy time?

ernesto neto

wikipedia says:
'His installations are large, soft, biomorphic sculptures that fill an exhibition space that viewers can touch, poke, and even sometimes walk on or through. These are made of white, stretchy, stockinglike material -- amorphous forms stuffed with Styrofoam pellets or, on occasion, aromatic spices.'

absolutely delicious
does anyone else have the desire to nap?

i want a room like this one in my place someday.

shadows

so for uni i've been looking at light and spaces and shadows etc and look what i found!
love this cheeky pic :)this girl is amazing
her name is kumi yamashita and she's an artist and here are some picked works of hers that deal with shadows.

amazing
i just admire people who can create realistic faces, mainly because that's a skill i don't have

again, so beautiful

can't see it very well, but these are all sheets of paper that are crinkly on one side. the shadows just add a touch of face onto the side. wowweeee

using newspaper to cover themselves from the rain :)
