fairy lights 2
this is the same shot as this wallpaper picture, but i like them both for different reasons. one difference between them is that this was taken with flash, so you can see more of the wall and the lights are a different colour.

I love manual focus.
this is from the Night Noodle Market last year that was set up in Hyde Park. my tastebuds and I have fond memories of that night. I love being able to take photos with a manual focus, because I love lights that are a bit blurred.

Sunset
I didn't even get to see any sun today. I spent the majority of my daylight hours sitting in front of the computer working on a presentation.
On a good note, I used this awesome site called Prezi, once you get the hang of it, it is the best presentation program ever! It makes slides look a million times better and it's quite easy to get the hang of!
On another side note, this week is Live Below the Line Week! It's pretty much an awareness campaign, you live on $2 a day for food and people sponsor you. Money raised goes towards I unfortunately haven't been too well so I couldn't do it, but will definitely be donating to friends and have devoted a lot of my time to Free Rice, because every little bit helps!

The Roof.
I really love the little dots of light and the repetition of the beams.

christmas tree!
in switzerland, you actually use a real tree at christmas. and real candles.delightful to spend hours watching. and we always bet on which candle will go out last, (which is always one near the bottom because the heat rises so the top ones melt faster).

ahhh, beauty materialised
so during my procrastination research
i stumbled upon this
if i was a building, i'd want to be something like this.
is that one of those things that people tell you not to say out loud?

an amazing piece of work by japanese pritzker prize winners SANAA
since just 1995 they have created some beautiful buildings and when i saw this one i was equally gobsmacked by it as with every other creation.
the wonder of it is the simple exterior but then you see it from the inside and those simple cutouts seen on the facade are revealed to be beautiful windows that create a breathtaking light quality inside

i'm a sucker for methodical, geometric designs [within reason of course] and this picture above just encompasses that aesthetic

stone house
holiday house in Spain, by Anton Garcia-Abril of Ensamble Studio.
the cave space that the home is in was hollowed out by a cow.
yes a cow.
something to do with concrete and bales of hay and then the cow, who was paid in a year's worth of lunch, pulled it all out? read the rest on trendir.

hand-set-off fireworks
so i've already talked about how amazing it is that you can buy fireworks in switzerland
and heeeere is another slr creation.
so worth sitting out in the cold, having forgotten your jacket, hat or gloves. and kneeling on cement balancing an expensive camera on a box, trying for-the-life-of-me to keep it still so we don't have to take this photo again! did i mention the crazy lady across the street who then accused the australian school system of failing because they encouraged vandalism? hoh yes, crazy.
but i didn't complain when i saw this.

for nye, anyone above the age of 12 can buy fireworks. which means, i can.
that, and a wonderful nikon slr means i can produce these photos..

there are more photos, but i don't want to put them up all at once. :)
