these are text messages i have recently received from my bestest friend, sarah

- the man sitting behind me on the bus is blatantly clipping his fingernails. i am wondering how anyone could be so careless with their dna. perhaps he is infertile and hence leaves a trail of nail clippings behind him wherever he goes in the hope that someone might find them and clone him, thus continuing his (impolite) genetic legacy.

- i am now contemplating what would happen if i was to somehow switch the mechanism of the nearby automatic doors so that instead of being closed and opening when people walk up, they would stay open and then violently shut and spontaneously attack them. omnomnom. i think that would make passing the time a far more enjoyable experience :)

- [in reply to a message in which i said the guy next to me on the bus smelled like taco seasoning] was he extra hot? because that's ok. but if he was only just mild or medium spicy it's a little creepy.

- I just accidently set my waste paper basket on fire. now there is a globular bin-shaped lump on my floor and cinders in the bathtub.

this house, the fab lab house, is probably the most epic house i've seen in a while

like the trendir site says (LOVE) it 'blends sustainable features with creature comforts and extraordinary aesthetics'

the shape is just beautiful to stare at. this photo here shows the roof, which is plastered with solar panels.

the home is atop three legs, improving ventilation naturally!
the home actually produces more energy than it consumes, can i hear a hooray?

and the inside is just 'gorge'
the large windows throw a lot of light into the space, which is a visually lovely wooden frame.

and i'll leave you with this beautiful view from the bedroom.

this house is just an excellent way of showing that environmentally sustainable houses can be beautiful and eye-catching too!

i'm a self-confessed bookworm and i just love these stairs that incorporate shelves to fit 6,600 books.

the things that look like light boxes next to each tread are some of the shelves. what beautiful symmetry in this view.

love! i've always thought of having a giant library in my home and this is a beautiful way of having one!

naked laptop

my laptop is quite old so i can hardly use it without it being plugged in.
so this morning when i used my laptop as a laptop (ie without plugging it in)

i realised that
it looked naked
